Mouthfuls is the second album from the folk-rock band, Fruit Bats. The record feels like the love child of late 60s folk and modern indie music for an overall refreshing and organic sound.

Not sure where to start? For a retro-psychedelic feel listen to "The Little Acorn". If you want to start with something widely loved check out the most popular track off of the album "When U Love Somebody".
"Drive your car until you see. To wet your tounge with the salty sea."
Album In Review
The genius of this album lies in the cohesive sound throughout the record. Each track blends into the next to create a unique story. While the background instrumentals remain relatively simple this album is full of subtle sound effects that draw the listeners' ear in. The vocals feel raw and exposed which causes the harmonies to feel otherworldly. ( Not quite sure you know what I mean? Listen to "Lazy Eye" 😉)
The conclusion of this record is the most upbeat track on the album - "When U Love Somebody". This feel-good tune is marked by tambourine accompaniment and light guitar. This song is the perfect nod to a first love with its carefree tune. The track also features the band clapping and cheering at the end which adds to the organic feel of the album as a whole.
